Toronto BrazilFest 2024: An Unforgettable Success!

BrazilFest stage

This year’s Toronto BrazilFest  was an absolute success! We are thrilled to share a few of what happened during these two days of pure Brazilian celebration.

Twenty years ago, the dream of a young woman from Minas Gerais living in Toronto was born: to make Brazilian culture recognized and valued worldwide, integrating the Brazilian community into an event where everyone could feel at home and enjoy the warmth of our rhythms. This year, we celebrated the 19th edition, bringing an even greater variety of services, food, drinks, and artists to celebrate with us.

Two Days of Pure Excitement!

It was two intense days, adding up to 22 hours of festivities with lots of samba, chorinho, sertanejo, pagode, forró, and, of course, many smiles and happiness. The 19 artists who graced our stage were acclaimed by the thousands of people who came to enjoy the weekend with us. They ensured plenty of excitement, dance, and music, with a repertoire full of new songs as well as classics that have marked generations and our hearts.

Among the artists, we highlight the Maranhense singer Alexandra Nicolas, winner of the Troféu Gonzagão, and the singer Stefanie, who brought the micareta atmosphere, making everyone dance to the rhythm of the carnival. We had a very eclectic festival, with the chorinho of Gentle Weep, the pagode of Pagode de Quinta, recalling old rock with Farofa Maple, living the “sofrência” with Léo Pratta, rocking out with Megaodete, and going wild with Tozuka, recalling the great hits of Mamonas Assassinas. It was unforgettable!!

“The festival has grown, and the intention is to grow even more. This year proved that the community is much more prepared to share Brazilian products with more authenticity and quality delivery. We had an increasing number of Brazilian stalls, going from 12 to 22 stalls.” – Arilda de Oliveira

In 2024, we had 40 exhibitors in total, with 22 of them being Brazilian, offering products in a way that only we know how to do. Additionally, hundreds of people worked tirelessly to create the best festival ever for the public, with 35 direct collaborators and 25 volunteers. Our sincerest “thank you!”.

See You in 2025!

With our hearts full of gratitude, we will continue to share the highlights from this year while our ideas begin to take shape for an even better Toronto BrazilFest 2025. See you on the third weekend of July!
